I am interested in using this content blocker, however the privacy policy is very vague and not clear. And on the website there is nowhere that tells that it uses the safari content blocker API.

I want to make sure it uses the content blocker API so that its not invading privacy with VPN and stuff.

I'm sure you already got your answer, but for the record: Yes, Better Blocker does use the content blocker api and the small hardworking team around it is very privacy focused. I personally use 1Blocker X (iOS)/1Blocker (MacOS) because of its blocking capabilities for the sites I frequently visit, but I tried and bought almost all of them and Better Blocker is a good one!
