I'm thinking of buying a Macbook Air now (mid 2017 model).

Will there by any problems using my old 27" Cinema Display with it? I can see that MBA still has Thunderbolt 2, and that is backward compatible? (unlike Thunderbolt 3)

Will the display have full functionality? E.g. wake up when I use mouse or external keyboard, while macbook is closed?

Thank you in advance!

Should be fine.

Note that current Macs normally don't automatically sleep when connected to power.

Thank you!

I guess I'm buying a Macbook just in time before they are getting rid of Thunderbolt 2 entirely... Connecting to the Display through Thunderbolt 3 seems to be a pain.
