Does connecting AirPods Pro 2 to older Bluetooth versions like 4.2 affect battery life?

AirPods Pro 2 uses Bluetooth 5.3, same with M2 iPad Pro and iPhone 14 line.

iPad Pro 10.5 is Bluetooth 4.2.

Bluetooth 4.2 does not support multistream, which means one AirPod must reboardcast half of the signal to the other AirPod. I think this is very inefficient in comparison.
