Hi I am confused by this setting. It is in the contact settings. I understand it suggest contacts it finds in emails but does it add them automatically to my contacts list?

I can't see where it says it adds anything automatically. The text below the setting sounds like it will index them and offer them (contact info in mail, like the phone numbers you see at the top of an email) in other places, such as incoming phone calls, etc. Which could be useful.

I've left the setting ON and am waiting to see how it helps me. :)

It doesn't add them to your contacts list

Edit to add: It becomes useful when you start an email or message etc, when you tap in the 'to' box, the names found (with whatever letter you typed) will be in the list of names (at the bottom usually).

Hope this helps.

Thank you to the both of you. What you said sounds pretty correct and logical after reading again.
