I have been a fan of Flight Simulator for a long time and now Flight Simulator X just came out. I know it requires heavy hardware. I am planning on upgrading to a MBP with the new models which should be out by early Jan, hopefully sooner :) I know hardware wise and with the graphics using Boot Camp it should be able to run Flight Simulator X.
My question, what about with Parallels? I highly prefer to run parallels over Boot Camp (so I don't have to reboot so often) but I know often Parallels won't run well with games.

With time will games run better under parallels?
Is there some mac equivalent of Flight Simulator X?

Most of all, in a worse case I'll give up parallels and go with boot camp or maybe even have to keep my Windows desktop.

This should be in the games section. Any windows app will run in boot camp. Boot camp is not emulation its running windows natively. There have however been reports of FSX being a huge power hog on any machine.

Hi,

Just for your info - I run Flight Sim 2004 and X just fine on my 2.0 MBP with 2GB Ram - I get good frame rates on both.. Not a chance in Parallels however..

Nelson.

I was going to say X plane but if you cant stand all that Civil aviation and are looking for some Fun IL2 and or Pacific Fighters is the ticket. Real flying only with WWII airplanes that have machine guns, bombs & rockets with missions etc. If you like airplanes you will love these two. Me109s,F4Us,P51s,P38s and my favorite the P-40 Warhawk. Plus you can fly real historical missions. Civil flying gets a little boring. I dont know if they ever offered a Demo with these two and havent heard how they do in Boot camphttp://pacific-fighters.com/en/pacific.php and a screen shot.................edit GMA950 users dont bother.
