I have alot of fonts, and i have noticed that since i have installed all these fonts some design programs are running alot slower, i am getting the circle of death alot more. is there any reason for this and is there anything i can do?. any help would be greatly appreciated

in a word... hell yeah. fonts take up memory, and the more fonts you have active, the less memory you have available for apps.

if you don't have an overwhelming # of fonts, you might try deactivating some of them in Fontbook and only keeping open the ones you need or use frequently. but Fontbook tends to choke on more than, say, one or two hundred fonts. for any serious number, you'll need Suitcase or a similar app to manage your font useage.
