Does icloud backup wifi passwords?

Thats for iTunes encrypted. But iCloud backup is the same as an iTunes encrypted.
yes & its nothing to do with keychain...i dont & never have enabled keychain, wifi networks with passwords are remembered fine
I would assume if you do not have keychain enabled it still stores them, but if you do have it enabled it uses keychain...
Before keychain, iOS devices used to share wifi credentials. I think once you enable keychain, it stores all that info in there.
According to Apple's backup site, passwords are not in the list of what is backed up. Keychains are, but not individual WiFi passwords.

It specifically mentions it, unlike iCloud backup.
@Mlrollin91 but it's ambiguous since it says icloud backup stores "Device settings". wifi passwords certainly are part of device settings.
Yes it is. An iCloud backup includes all the things that an iTunes encrypted does.

What are you talking about. All that is backed up in iCloud backups. It has stored health and keychain data since iOS 8.
Did you even read your own support article, that is listed under iTunes backup, not iCloud.
An iCloud backup is the same exact thing as an encrypted iTunes.
I don't fully believe everything Apple publishes as 100% true unless I have experienced it or the overwhelming majority concurs. I have been doing IT for many years and have learned, a lot of things are not correctly explained or work as smoothly and as advertised.
So yeah, I've read the article. The only thing that is not the same are Apps. iTunes will back those up and restore. iCloud backup does not. It is also recommended that if you have a large backup, iTunes w/Encryption is the fastest/best method.
I use iCloud as a secondary/fail safe option. I only restore/backup using iTunes when necessary.
iCloud backup does for 100% include health and keychains as I did a restore last month. If you go check your iCloud backup on your device in settings, it will show health data as a toggle that can be enable/disabled if you want.
Give me 5 minutes and I will post a screenshot of my device. But like you, I only use iCloud as a failsafe as well, iTunes encrypted in my primary. It failed a month ago, so I needed to use iCloud. 10.2 introduced a nasty bug with iTunes backups that cause them to become corrupt.
