I didn't see it under iCloud on my iPhone 5.

Yes. It will auto-download new book purchases (if you have that turned on) and will sync bookmarks and notations.
 
Where do you turn that on??
I didn't see it in the iCloud area of my iPhone???
Seems all the other sync options are there??
