Does InvisibleShield add Heat? Please test your MPB temp for me.

Hi guys, i have InvisibleShild full armor on my MPB 15" and wondered if it added any heat. Could you guys test your MBP's cpu temp for me running this test?

First, make your system run at 100% cpu load using Systemload

Run it for about 10 minutes and read the temperature using CoreDuoTemp

I ran it for 10min and my temp is 74C on a MBP C2D 15" 2.33.

i hope somone can post the same on a 17" as i hear they may run cooler.

I don't have any shields etc and I'm around 70 at full load for 10 mins.

*bump* i'd like to see if anybody else has experience with this. considering one for my MBP but it feels like it'd insulate the aluminum.

I'm running the program now, but it doesn't seem to be utilizing both cores at maximum load. I have the invisible shield on my computer, and I don't think I've ever seen higher than mid-70's, but we'll see what this test gives me.

Edit: Ok, 74 degrees C seems to be the highest I'm getting before the fans begin to spool up a bit and the temperature drops a little. I don't think the shield affects the temps very much at all, and remember also getting a reading of 74 or so before I installed the shield.

I have the full armor for my 17" mbp. I was just going to ask about the temp thing as well. Tried both links, for some reasons, first can't download, second... missing download link. i have the fan control pref, so my mbp is never (or at least when I inspect it) to run over 60 C. If you are worry about heat, you may wanna get that to control your fans.

I wonder though whether the bottom shield should be removed since it does seem the aluminum is better for heat control. The film doesn't insulate but considering the material may retain the heat at a longer time factor than the metal before it get dissipitates into into the environment.... I mean, plastics aren't that good with heat...

hmm, i just tried them and they both still work for me. on the second one, the download link is at the very top of the page next to the visitors counters. my friend has a mbp 17" and his seems to run a lot cooler then my "15. if you can test your temp like i did, i will have him do his and then compare your numbers with my friend and we can then see if the invisibleshield added head to your system.

Hey sorry for the delay,
I finally did the test and after 10 minutes of 100% system load, the temperature went up only to 72 degree Celcius. That's on a 17" C2D at 2.33. I did use the fan control preference pane to limit it between 45 and 80 C.

I am still wondering whether the invisible shield did anything or whether we need to run the test longer... since the invisible shield COULD possibly act more as an incubator over longer period of time... and the temperature if only of the CPU within a short time?
