I hate having to type on my username and password in apps that I've downloaded when my information is always saved in Keychain with Safari.

I'm talking about apps like Wells Fargo, Domino's, PayPal, and Pandora.

Hasn't this always been possible? I know a lot of apps don't support it but some of the apps I use have access to Keychain already for login details

I just downloaded the Chase bank app and it's asking for my username and password. I don't remember my password but it's in keychain.

I've never had the Chase app before. I can understand it might keep it after I signed on but I want it to do it straight from the beginning.

Yes in many apps look for the key icon above keyboard when on a login field

Sorry but can you give me some apps that support this??

This made my day!
It seems to be automatically supported if the app uses username and password fields. I’m not aware of exceptions but there probably are some. Here’s PayPal which is one app you listed. There are two suggestions based on associated website if there is one. The key on the right lets you open up all site passwords so you can pick from anything or if the app doesn’t have an associated website (that iOS knows about)

Well that could be it! I saw it had always been available so figured it was pre-11.

This is an exciting time folks!
Ah that user was referring to a feature which was rarely implemented by apps. In iOS 11 it works more automatically and should always display that key button as a fallback to pick from all passwords.
