Since tvOS 13 now officially supports the X-Box one and PS4 Controller via BT I would assume that the same hold true for iOS 13 as well. Can anyone please confirm this.

I’m assuming that just means the Xbox One controller that is compatible with Bluetooth. The first version of the XBOne controller required a dongle to be used wireless with a PC, or required a cable as it used some funky proprietary wireless set up.It says XBOX One S controller so be weary.

I’ve just paired this controller with my iPad.....
How old is that controller? I bought my X-Box one controller in December 2018. I wonder if it will work.
This is the one I got - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078T3R8YS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
UPDATE: Actually I have the exact same model controller as you, 1708, but mine's black. So hopefully it'll work!
In my opinion, controller support is the final piece that was holding everything back in terms of gaming on iOS. I understand that touch was a big component of gaming in the early days but that’s not really the way forward. The new iPad Pro is an order of magnitude more powerful than the Nintendo switch, it’s trivial to enable games to support docking to a TV or monitor and now with control pad support the possibilities are endlessWith Console Controller support, I would't be surprised that once iOS 13 launch's that we see Steam game play on iPad. Witcher 3, Cup-head, Division 2..etc. Or console ports that are part of the App Store.
It works perfectly on the iPad.
I have the 12inch 2018 iPad Pro running iPadOS. The Xbox controller which to be honest I had no idea it was Bluetooth, I have Xbox One X... it works great with the iPad. Pairs as you would expect in the settings app.
I’ve made a video of me playing GRID Autosport but it’s hard to hold the phone and pad at the same time... gimme a min and I’ll get it uploaded.

Sorry for the Dropbox link... I broke my Google account with a Yubikey and Vimeo upload keeps crashing, and i want to go to bed!
Does anyone know if the controller that comes with the One X is straight BT? I don’t think my Elite controller I normally play with is but that one might be since it’s newer? I bought it last summer. Would finally have a use for it.
