It showed on my iPad 2, but the jpgs in the dcim folder were not recognized.

Why do you need need need it to work with your iPhone?

Also, iOS 5.0.1 only adds:

- Fixes bugs affecting battery life
- Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
- Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
- Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

Its called the "Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit", I don't know why you would expect the Camera Kit to suddenly begin working with your iPhone.

With the recent implementation of Garage Band on iphone, not to mention a plethora of other excellent music apps, the use of a camera connection kit would be humungous, and begs to be answered! That's why. I would be able to hook up any midi controller that supports core midi and be able to play with the controller instead of the touch screen. For example: the lpk25. It's not like I just suddenly expected 5.0.1 to support it. I was just sort of hoping there could be a chance. You never know, stranger things have happened with updates.:)

Some guys enabled the Camera Connection Kit on an iPod Touch 4g running iOS 5.0.1 and hooked up a USB midi controller.. seems to be working flawlessly.. hopefully we will see a public release soon which will work on the iPhone too.
