Does it matter what wifi you have to connect to a Mac?

I don't have a Mac and am just deciding whether to buy one to make music on.
This is a pretty basic question and apologies if the answer is somewhere in the forums.
All i wanted to know was will Macs connect to any wifi connection.
I don't have much IT knowledge and i've noticed the ads for Macs talking about Wifi 6 and Wifi 6e, which doesn't really mean much to me.
I only have a thing called Mifi from my local internet company, which is just a 4G mobile internet thing that i use for my laptop at the moment.
I set up a password and just log on to it.
Would this be ok to use with Mac or would I have to get a better internet connection.

Wifi 6 or 6e reflects latest standard to which it can connect.

Wifi is generally backwards compatible, so Mac will easily connect with older standards too. Summary information on this page may be helpful.
