Hello

Haven't posted much here in awhile

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro (6GB, 2.4 i5, 500GB HDD)
I noticed that under Mac OSX 10.11.6, i get reduced performance, but under Windows 7 Home with Bootcamp, the performance is significantly increased.

Does MacOS thermal throttle, whereas windows does not?

I don't know - my Macbook Pro gets significantly hotter under Windows 10, and Windows 10 performs significantly better on this machine that macOS. Whether that is because of thermal throttling, I don't know.

MacOS on a standard hard drive is a beachball fest. Windows can still be ok on standard hard drive.
That's been my experience.
