Does Migrating Data via Thunderbolt bridge no longer work?
I have a 2019 Mac Mini and a 2019 Macbook Pro, both running Monterey 12.1.
They are connected to each others thunderbolt ports with the correct cable.

When I start up migration assistant, the target system doesn’t see the source system.

I tried creating a thunderbolt bridge, but that didn’t work either.

Any idea? The documentation that I’ve found via Web search all say that it will work, but it doesn’t.

I wonder if Apple disabled this data migration method and forgot to tell anyone.

Did you put the source Mac into Target disk mode:

No, it wasn't mentioned in Apple data migration instructions. My expectation was to connect the Macbooks via thunderbolt cable and the data migration assistant would detect the connection and use it, or at least mention how to use thunderbolt somewhere on the screen.

I'll keep target disk mode in mind for my next migration, though that will involve Apple silicon.
