Does Migration assistent work to transfer files and settings from a PC to mac?

The Apple Migration Assistant is Mac only, however, there is a Vista tool that can be used for your bootcamp partition if you have one.

Excellent. Do you know if the Vista migration tool would also move programs / apps or would these need t be reinstalled one by one?
As usual the Windows method is a bit more cumbersome.

Perhaps there is a simpler guide someone else can suggest.
I tried Winclone to pull my bootcamp partition from my MBP to the mini but Windows would not boot and could not be repaired. The base hardware was too different.
