I am tired of Launchpad rearranging icons and even adding icons after I've taken the time to delete them.

The true way to "fix" Launchpad is to remove it; it's useless. There is nothing that it does that the dock and Spotlight couldn't already do better.
I so hope that's true.
Try putting 150 applications into your Dock. Or using Spotlight to launch an application by its icon, or finding an application by the position you remember its icon to be at. Or using Spotlight purely with a mouse.
It's also easier to categorize apps and find apps by category in Launchpad than by using just the Dock or Spotlight.

What about using the Applications folder as a stack in the dock? It's basically the same.
Personally, I don't see much point in launchpad but I'm glad to hear that it's fixed now.
Whats the difference in a stack and the launch pad? Only one I can think of is scrolling vertically in stack and horizontally in launch pad.

With the new search function in launch pad, will you be using purely your mouse to look through your 150 applications?

One advantage of Launchpad, for me personally, is the existence of a gesture for entering and exiting Launchpad. And the fact that I can rely on an app's icon to be at a specific position on the screen (In theory at least
) so that I may start moving the cursor into its direction before I've even spotted the icon.No. Not all the time. Certainly, the search functionality should have been there in Lion already. I'm sure it'll prove useful. But it's nice to have at least the ability to use only a mouse or trackpad for quickly starting an application.

I completely agree with this part, except for the ugly dedicated Launchpad key on my MBP. I really wish they would have put that to better use...though I also feel the same about the dedicated Mission Control key next to it. There are fantastic gestures for both features, there really isn't much of a need for dedicated keys as well.
How do I delete certain icons from Launchpad without actually deleting the application? There are some things that show up that I'd like to remove without actually deleting the application.
I don't have a whole lot of apps, but I am always using Launchpad. I think its slick, especially using the multi-touch gesture to go to it. I don't like a ton of apps in my dock, and I hated stack.
As for Launchpad Control, its nice, right up until you restart your computer. But it does do a better job keeping the apps under control than not having it at all.
