I was given a Mac Mini and wanted to connect it to my big screen to stream internet and in trying to investigate connecting bluetooth for a wireless keyboard the Mac stated it couldn't find any bluetooth hardware. My manual says that Bluetooth was an option. Here are my machines specs:

MACHINE MODEL: MAC MINI
CPU TYPE: POWERPC G4 (1.2)
NUMBER OF CPUs: 1
CPU SPEED: 1.42 Ghz
L2 CACHE (PER CPU): 512 KB
MEMORY: 512 MB
BUS SPEED: 167 MHz
BOOT ROM VERSION: 4.8.9f1
SERIAL NUMBER: YM5047HORHU

1. Does this machine have bluetooth hardware

2. If it does not approximatelly what would it cost to upgrade.

3. What would be the best keyboard/mouse setup.

Thanks,
Dennis Pekins

no blue tooth your best bet is a dongle. I will look for a link. It may not work for a ppc mini.

plug this into a usb jack. should work

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...e=bluetooth_dongle_usb-_-33-242-003-_-Product

grab one or two of these

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...es_to_go_usb_extension-_-12-196-337-_-Product

they would allow easy access to the usb jacks and if the dongle need to move for reception it is on this extension..

instead of hooking a bluetooth to the mini
with your machine I might consider a wired apple key board. with this mouse

It should have Bluetooth 1.1 according to your serial number (www.appleserialnumberinfo.com).
Do you see Bluetooth in System Preferences or System Profiler?

Addition:

Connectivity includes DVI (DVI-to-VGA adapter included), USB 2.0, FireWire, and a headphone/line out jack, as well as support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth with optional upgrades (after July 26, 2005, AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth were provided standard, but the modem was dropped).

see this DropBoxed PDF for details about your Mac mini
