I have an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro. My iCloud storage is full at 5GB. When I take a photo on my iPhone, whilst it saves to Camera Roll, the My Photo Stream on my phone stays empty. Is this because my iCloud storage is full?

My Photo Stream is turned on on my phone and in icloud.com. And, I can see previous photos in My Photo Stream in Photos on my mac.

Aren't photos and videos supposed to automatically upload to Photos on my mac? What am I doing wrong?

PS, I cannot delete My Photo Stream on my phone, that seemed to work for another thread. It also, won't work if i turn it off, then on.

One more Q: Apple forums state that iCloud.com does not use up storage to store photos - am I reading this wrong?

Please help. Thanks.

I'm under the impression that photo stream doesn't count against the free 5GB.
It doesn't sound like you're logged in to our icloud in the phone if the photo stream is empty.

Prior to your answer, I reset my phone, and it worked. I presumed the problem was as you state, a problem with not being logged-in to the cloud. But my mac and phone did have My Photo Stream enabled. Probably will never know. Thank you for your advice.
