Does OS 3.0 allow you to choose a text message tone?

Does anybody know if the new OS 3.0 software will allow you to chosse your own text message tone?

Because they understand that some people put very ANNOYING text tones on all their other phones? I really hate when people have whole songs for a text tone. Then they are texting away and every 3 minutes it starts playing music. Text tones shouldn't be any longer then 5-10 seconds. Simple, short. Something you and the people around you are going to be able to stand hearing multiple times in a row.

Fair point, just would have been nice if they had created an app that shortened the song to allow you to edit the song to a 5 to 10 second clip to use as a text message tone

To me, a text tone should be 1-2 seconds. I am not in high school anymore, so having a song go off for a text is annoying and makes the person look like an idiot. I realize THEY care that they got an SMS, but everyone around them doesn't need to know.

Agreed. Even if they allowed us to change them I'd still use the one I use now. I like it. It's not annoying.
