I really don't understand what's wrong with my hard drives! Does OSX corrupt external hard drives? I have faced 4-5 hard drive failure in last 3 years after switching OSX. Lost so many priceless data. Now I regret using OSX. Is there any solution to it? Anyone else facing this?

Does OSX corrupt external hard drives?

I have been using OS X with external hard drives since Jaguar (10.2, 2002), and no, OS X does not corrupt external hard drives (there was that one update though... :)

Power and cables are more likely candidates for the source of your problems.

I have also used OSx with external HDDs since 2005 never a problem. If you have important data, you should back it up. Sometimes the platter disks just go bad; environment can do it too.
