I have read about the 1000 photo limit and the 30 days thing. But what I was sorta hoping for was that when I take a photo on the iPhone, it should stream it to the iPad, other iOS devices, but SAVE on the mac... So that I'm not limited to just 1000 and all are saved... somewhere at least.

Does anyone know of the details of this or will I still have to manually import photos I take on the iPhone to the mac into iPhoto etc?

So even if I delete the pics in the camera roll it will stay in the photo stream?

If so how do I delete pics in the photo stream?

I think so far you can't delete individual pictures. There's a setting to clear them ALL out however.

So they'll just stay on for 1 month/1000 pics on the iOS devices but stay permanently on the macs?

I don't believe they are saved on the Mac. In iPhoto there's a tab on the left side labeled "Photo Stream" where you can view your photos in the Cloud. If you want to save them permanently you have to drag them into your Library under "Events" or "Photos"

Edit: Never mind, I just tried taking a photo on my iPhone, and it appeared under the "Photo Stream" in iPhoto as well as being saved in my events automatically as well.

that question has been driving me crazy for a week...

i just disable and reenable photostream, but that's a flaky ass solution Apple should have thought about before releasing this buggy ass OS.
