Both Photoshop and Illustrator are 64 bit. Luckily it's these apps that i use the most. Pity InDesign is still 32 bit

Kind of. I have to go to export files instead of save as. Save as always saves them in the wrong location or not at all.

Keeping those alive will be hit and miss. They have a chance if they are 64 bit, if they rely on 32 bit sub components, it's more like 90/10 they won't or fail if you use a function that calls them. CC is going to be your only path forward for those or to an alternate.

All Photoshop installers up to CC 2018 are 32-bit. The apps themselves can be installed and then copied, but the installers won't run. (CC 2019 version was not an option for me (it breaks AMT emulator), but I checked and its installer is 64-bit.)

I just struggled with this last week & ended up extracting the application manually. Adobe's installers just use zip files internally.

Edit: I was referring to the offline installers from Adobe's page. I've never used the Creative Cloud desktop app. Good to know that is a working alternative.

Does photoshop CS6 work on Catalina?

No, it does not. While the main app is 64bit, there are accessory binaries that check Adobe websites for registration that do not run, blocking the main app from running. It will appear to start, then hang.

I have Catalina on my laptop and had to revert to an earlier version just to run the uninstaller, which is also 32bit. Adobe places files all over so if you just trash the main app, there's a lot of extra on the disk.
