Hello all,

I received an iphone 3gs and I want to jailbreak it. I reinstalled factory settings, and can't actually access it now because don't have UK sim card (partly why I'm jailbreaking)

So in order to JB correctly, I need to know which ios its running.. If resetting removes updates then it should be ios 3.0? does it work like this?

and if it keeps the updates, How can I check what version its running if I can only access the "Sim not recognised, SOS call only" screen?

Thanks for any help! This is a new area for me :)

Plug it into itunes will show what ios ver its running
Also NOT all 3GS iphone can be sim slot unlocked via software
Be careful and research the serial number so that you don't brick the radios trying as rolling back them to ipad 6.15 will be an issue with the newer 3gs iphones.
I suggest just pay for a factory unlock then jailbreak, the two are not the same
