iPhone 15/Plus Does satellite connection 'demo' actually talk to satellites?

This might seem like a dumb question: But does the 'demo' under SOS actually communicate with satellites?

I have seen a lot of people on YouTube using the demo to 'prove' situations where the iphone satellite connectivity would work, including in dense forest, slot cayons, and inside caves.... But no one seems to have shown a video of it *not* working, and in every video there seems to be the same pre-canned response. So its not clear to me that it is actually anything other then a demo of how it would work, and not an actual comms test?

Yes. The demo doesn't work indoors. You can try it yourself.

I’ve seen this videos where it works in caves and things, I don’t understand how it works, you need a fairly clear view of the sky, line of sight with a satellite. I guess they are faked
