My iPhone 12 Mini has been off the charger for about 12 hours now. Screen on time says 2hrs 52min which is nowhere close to accurate. Ive used it maybe 30 minutes since its been off the charger. Screen off for 6 minutes? lol. The screen on/off time never seems to be anything close to accurate. Why?

Never bothered using screen time, for most accurate reading, go to battery in settings, usage and select the current day.

Screen Time has been hit or miss since day one in my opinion. Agree to reference the battery page re: screen usage time.

If you're going by the screen on time as circled on my screenshot, that is for the last 24 hours, not since you took it off the charger.

Thank you. So that only resets every 24 hours? Does it reset the same time every day? Like 12:01am? Screen off is confusing. Mine currently says 4m. My screen has been off a lot longer than 4 minutes the past 24 hours. Why can't it show how much time you have used your phone since the last full charge? Im sure Apple is smart enough to make that happen.

The 24hr screen time page doesn’t reset at any specific time; It’s a rolling 24 hours, so within the last 24 hours of whatever time you are checking it.

The “screen off” time being reported are things that are being done in the background while your screen is off, that would specifically contribute to battery usage. Listening to an hour of Spotify while your screen is off, for example, would report in that figure.
