Are picture size/quality altered so that they are easier or quicker to move with airdrop, or do I have an exact copy of the same quality in the moved photo? I've read somewhere (before it was relevant to me, now that it is I can't find the post) that some things DO leave you with a smaller file size or quality change but I forget what that was.

Thanks!

I've tested AirDrop and posted here somewhere about my results. The gist was that transferring between an iPhone or iPad to a Mac or between two Macs via AirDrop yielded no loss in data or resolution. Transferring the same images via iCloud did downsample images.

I now disable iCloud Library - synching via cables or AirDrop is my go-to sync method.
