Ive always wondered this. Spatial audio is great Im sure, but does it work for every single mp3 file out there? For example I already have many songs on my phone, but will spatial audio work for those?

Or is it only going to work for supported content such as Apple TV, etc.?

Thanks all

The new iOS has a "spatialize" function that works with everything. But you have to keep in mind that the term "spatial" is used very loosely. This is basically just a DSP that applies various eq and timing changes to enhance the sound. It isn't really turning 2 channel into multichannel. And multichannel played through headphones isn't really multichannel either.

Most of the quality of spatial audio is due to mixing and mastering.
