Does the 1.86ghz MBA have a better battery life then the 2.13ghz model?

I remember hearing murmurings about this when the machines were announced but despite a bit of Google-fu action still can't find out the answer. Does anybody know? I understand that in theory the faster processor could require more power so the battery goes down quicker, but in reality is this the case?

Anand reviews the 11" but if I were to make an educated guess I'd say the same applies to the 13", too

I disagree. Clock speed has much less to do with performance than people think. Its not like a 2 Ghz chip is twice as fast as a 1 Ghz chip. Its not 1:1, not even close. I'd recommend the slower processor and 4 Gigs RAM as the best compromise between performance and battery.

Aye, this was what I was kind of expecting and hoping to hear. It's odd that there isn't a comparison out there. I currently have a max 11.6" model but am starting to find the screen a little too small for my needs, I have heard that the 2.13ghz 13" model is a little louder then the 1.86ghz equivalent. Do you think there could be any truth to that?

Same chip model, a 1GHz difference in speed would be quite noticeable in many tasks.

It's possible because when I use Coolbook to under volt the fans slow down and aren't as loud.

I'd buy the 2.13 and use Coolbook for the few times the fans do get loud, for example watching video.

technically yes because the motherboard needs to send voltage to those unused ram blocks but in the real world, this is a very small difference.
