Apple is replacing my 2014 iMac (the tldr is that the display was replaced a few times and the GPU burnt through the screen...) they are replacing it with a new 2017 iMac and I wanted to know a few things about the 2017's because I don't think I will have apple care on it anymore (can you even buy apple care again when they give you a newer mac as a replacement?)

1. I was wondering how hot the 2017 iMac runs? I will run an external 4k off of it. It's the 575 i7 model. I'm worried because my 2014's GPU would always be at 99C when I have the 4k external plugged in. Will this be a problem with the 2017 model too?

2. I was wondering if anyone here has had the image retention issue with the 2017. I'm very worried about this one because its such a common problem with 2014/2015 iMacs and if my 2017 wont have apple care then I don't want to be stuck with a damaged screen in the future.

I have read just about every image retention thread on the forum (there's 15+) and so far I have not seen a single person who managed to get the issue fixed by replacing the mac. BUT, I don't recall seeing anyone get a 2017 unit as a replacement for a 2014 model. So I am REALLY hoping here that someone here has experience with the image retention issue who ended up getting a 2017 iMac and who managed to get this issue fixed.
