I've heard that when using the outter ports, say USB, the Air doesnt sit flat. Is this an issue? And if so, does it affect typing or scrolling?

Mine sits flat. Some had poorly seated rubber feet early on, but haven't heard much about this problem since the early days.

The problem probably has something to do with the form factor of what's being plugged into the port. Shouldn't be a problem with the mini-DVI and the headphone jack but some USB drives or cables can be bulky around the connector. I can see this leading to the MBA not sitting flat.
