Does the App Store work on Mac Books

I love the app store new in itunes but I would like to know if the apps which you can download work on macs as well as the iphone as I do not have an iphone?

None of the apps will work on your computer, they are all programmed specifically for the iPhone touch interface.

I'm afraid they only work on iPhones/iPod touches
