Nope - no reason to. It wouldn't really be cool if you're watching a movie/DVD - the reason the Apple lights up on iMacs/iBooks is because the lit display is "lighting" the apple on the back - as well as because the apple is not facing the viewer. It's a distraction, especially if you're doing video/graphics work. This is why most new plasma/LCD displays have a tiny power light (if any light at all) on them.
