Hello! My first time visiting this site. I'm purchasing an iPad Pro 10.5 tomorrow and I'd like to order the leather Apple Smart Cover for it. I've already purchased a clear thin rubber back cover from Amazon that is compatible with the Apple Smart Cover. My question is will the Smart Cover fold back and stick/hold to the back of the iPad (with the generic thin rubber back cover mentioned above)?

I read a lot of ebooks and so folding the cover back and not having it flop around would be nice.

Mine does with the Poetic back case. It stays stuck to the back during normal use, but does not if you try to hold the iPad parallel to the floor with no fingers on the cover (if that makes sense).

Same with my back case.

I have a 12.9 pro with poetic lumos (w/ apple pencil holder) back cover and i bought a used apple smart cover from ebay.

The apple smart cover will stick on the back case while holding part of it near the magnetic hinge, but it will not stick if no support at all. same thing happens when its fold close flipping the ipad upside down, the apple cover will flap open.

I dont know if its because of my poetic case lip affecting the magnet to stick or my apple smart cover magnet is not strong enough. also my poetic lumos lip is lifting my tempered glass if it get pulled.
