Does the base come off the iMac?

Hi there, quick question. Can you take the base off of the iMac 20" for transporting? ie. does the base come seperately when the box is shipped to you and then you put it together?

Nope - one piece, and removing it is... very difficult. The 24" has a removable one.

No - but I have a 17" (same build as the 20"), and, yeah, that thing's not coming off without a fight and likely not without damage. I wish the entire line-up was wall-mountable.

They seem really nice, but like emptycup said, use the box.

I can think of other stuff to buy for my imac with the money that the case cost.
