I airdropped some powerpoint to my iPad then opened and saved them to files with powerpoint. They will show up in powerpoint, but not in the files app, is this normal?
all my files.Does it show up in the Keynote iCloud Drive folder?
all my files.
I think the issue is that the powerpoint saved it to the app itself and not hte files app, but i am unsure how to get it to save to the files app
It isn't on the on my iPad section in files. The odd thing is if I open it with keynote it will show up in files.
Please forgive me if I'm completely misunderstanding you; I do not have an "'on my iPad' section".The “on my iPad” section is nothing but the collection of files saved in individual apps. And therefore you can’t create a folder there or save files outside an app’s folder
That’s because Keynote actually made a copy of the file — what you’re seeing isn’t the original.
If you saved it through PowerPoint on your iPad, it will never show up in Files (because MS hasn’t enabled this option)
You’ll have to save the file to Dropbox or OneDrive if you want to see it in Files.
Please forgive me if I'm completely misunderstanding you; I do not have an "'on my iPad' section".
Tap Files App on iPad
Ensure Browse is selected at the Bottom
Ensure iCloud Drive is selected within the left navigation column
Place your finger in the middle of the iCloud Drive selection within the right column ( not on a folder ), and drag down about a centimeter.
Add folder top left.
Thank you for explaining... I feel smarter! The "On My iPad" section only appears if you have saved files in at least one app that allows access from Files app, e.g. Keynote. You can't create folders in the "On My iPad" section because it isn't something like a folder itself but more like a list of those apps you have. In the sections of other storage providers like iCould Drive you can certainly create folders because they are real storage places.
