Does the Gold master and final version of iOS improve a lot to the phone

I have an iPhone 5S and iPad 4 both on iOS 9 beta 5 and I've noticed that the iPad performance and battery is way better than it was with iOS 8. My iPhone 5s battery doesn't perform like it should and there are some bugs that doesn't make it feel like iOS 8 where the performance was outstanding, do you think that the final version or gold master will improve a lot to the battery and performance ?

Yes, it's still in beta. The GM is normally the build that is released to the public a few weeks later, unless there's a bug that needs to be desperately patched before doing that.

Historically the first builds still have a few niggling bugs that only appear when it's distributed to so many users. Of course these are eventually patched and the x.2 builds onwards are typically a little more stable and bug-free.

iOS 8 performance (and all the versions before that) also weren't anywhere close to outstanding or bug-free when first released. Now that it's on 8.4.1 it's a lot better, but just remember this is after a year of Apple patching it, so don't expect a similar rock-solid stability from the first build of iOS 9.

I know that bugs would be fixed, but I mean does the battery improve with the gold master and final version, my battery goes like a fast countdown, it's stays for a maximum of 2 hours, I'm asking if the final version would have a better battery life
 
It usually will, since they remove logging and diagnostic processes, so yeah :)

Battery life on my Air 2 seems about the same whereas on my iPhone 5s it got way worse with iOS 9, the device gets pretty hot. I did not install it on my iPhone 6 since it is my main device.

I had the same problem with battery for a while now. You know what my problem was? LTE antenna + my carrier.

I swapped out the reception dots for a dB readout late last week. Around my house I was getting (approx) average -109 signal strength. Downtown, where coverage is "good" -95 on the 18th floor of my building.

I switched to 3G and I no I get -92 to -71 respectively. My battery usage improved quite dramatically. Might work for you.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone think PB users will get GM as well as DP users? I wonder how Apple is going to go about getting users off the PB to the full release version. Obviously it will be iTunes only and not OTA, but I wonder if we will see an iTunes DL tomorrow for us PB users.

You can't. You have to set it to stay on. After you get to the field test screen hold down the power button until the power off slider shows, but dont actually turn it off. Hold down the home button until it goes to the home screen. The signal strength will stay there, but tapping it doesn't toggle it.

edit: actually you can toggle after setting it to stay, you have to hit the actual number / bars exactly.

PB users would get an OTA upgrade once the final public version is out.

It's kinda tricky, DP don't usually get GM OTA right?
but this is the first time there's a Pb and an OTA update to GM is expected right?

Guess we'll find out tonight.
 
no, the more mature any ios gets, including a gm aka final release compared to BETAS prior, will ALWAYS, ruin ur battery life & make smoke come out of ur phone. ur better off hacking the device to run ios 1.0 where snappier safari shall be, & cause its ios 1.0, no idiots can try to make the previous ios that they once recently "hated", sound perfect! win win right?























of coarse the final version will be better than the betas...update to it right away...

This alone makes me hopeful for an OTA version of GM. Typically, the GM has been an .ispw and iTunes thing... but the developers have access to the developer download site that the public beta testers don't... so that kind of rules out the download an .ispw and install via iTunes approach. Should be interesting.

Unless Apple releases the full version tomorrow on the Appleseed PB website for current PB users to download and install via iTunes and the public release is still next Wednesday. Similar to the dev center, allowing PB users to have access to the full version.
 
Just a reminder, GM doesn't do UDID checks (not like the betas did anyway)
so if you happen to get your hands on the ipsw of the GM, nothing's stopping you from installing it.

Not sure if GM OTA is expected as much as the final version OTA is. We'll see how it all goes.

It's not completely out of possibility that GM could be OTA. For iOS it's unknown until tomorrow. But last summer with Yosemite, GM was not limited to Devs only. PB got all three GM candidates.

Personally I think we will see GM for the Public Beta Program and very well could be OTA just to make it easier for everyone running PB. GM's in the past never did, but also didn't need to. Devs already had access to .ispw files and doing it through iTunes. PB doesn't have access to .ispw files and has never been around for a x.0 release till now.
 
My prediction is that developer testers and public beta testers will get the same treatment with regards to OTA, whatever that treatment may be. So either both get the GM OTA today, or both will have to wait for the public release OTA in a week or two. Of course, developer testers will be able to the the ipsw manually in the intervening period if they want to.
 
Seeing how terrible beta 5 is on 64 bit devices, I wouldn't hold my breath
