On my 3G it seems like I have to press the home button for longer than I need to on my iPhone to get to the home screen. Has anyone else noticed this, or have I got something I may need to have looked at?

Well I have a wifi version and it seems to work the same on mine.

What I do notice on mine is that the home button "clicks" on mine. Its not a soft quiet button like the iphone. My wife noticed it last night while she was trying to sleep , every time I went to the home screen she heard the clicking sound.

Anyone else notice that ? Is it normal on the iPad ?

Yup, totally normal. I have had no delay issues either.
