does the iMac 27" (july 27++) super drive already SATA II

Does the latest imac 27" (july 27++) superdrive has the the sata II port already, I kinda remember, it was using sata 1. So just wanted to ask you guys.

I'm planning a hdd + sdd configuation where you replace the optical drive with ssd via mce optibay.

Does mce optibay works on the latest iMac 27"?

Yes, it's SATA 3Gb/s (also known as SATA II).

Why don't you add SSD along with the HD + SuperDrive? That can be done with new iMacs although it's little harder.

hey thanks Hellhammer, I am still contemplating whether to go with the 3 drive setup, but its kinda hard, when I saw the pictures.

iMac 24" 2.93GHz, 4GB DDR3, 640GB, GT130 512MB GDDR3 from early 2009. Not special but sufficient for my needs. Getting a laptop as soon as I can though

Yes they have Sata II and some iMacs are now shipping with Pioneer drives, which may or may not have riplock, havent tested mine yet
