was considering purchasing this and thought i’d get as much info as possible, i know it does include the 20W charger so i’m kind of confused

Yes it has the same fast charging as the iPad Pros (except 1st gen 9.7 inch iPP), Air 3, Air 4, Mini 5 and even 7th gen iPad has it too

But I’m not sure if 20W is fast charging for iPads. 30W USB adapter one is a minimum

I think it’s all relative. The iPads (not the mini) used to come with 12W chargers so 20W would be faster charging but obviously not the maximum they are capable of. Using a 20W charger on an iPad is probably akin to using the 12W charger on iPhones before they supported fast charging. It did improve charging times.

Weirdly enough its not on the apple "fast charging" page and that hasn't been updated yet

I don't know if Apple changed the charging circuit on the iPad 8th gen but the 7th gen was actually capable of pulling 15W from USB-C charger.

iPad Pros (except 9.7) and Air 3 are capable of using up to 30W, though. Great when one needs a quick top-up.
