iPad Air Does the iPad support full screen on external displays?

I will be getting an iPad Air very soon and want to use it on an external display. Will the iPad be able to support full screen on the display? I know the aspect ratio is different.

Can I play video from Netflix/VLC on the external display, or is that blocked due to app/iOS limitation etc?

It will support full screen display of the video on the monitor.

Yes the iPad supports full screen on external displays with no problem, however the developer needs to support it into their application for it to scale properly.
