Other Does the iPhone 14 Pro have an updated thermal design?

It was speculated but given that there was no mention in the keynote, I don’t believe so.
Yeah its a shame if not - one of the problems the 13 pro had with games was throttling when the temp rose up.
I thought I was going crazy when after seeing it not being mentioned anywhere, I'm pretty sure I heard them talk about it in the keynote(albeit super short). I looked again at the keynote to find it - and they did.
It's very easy to miss, but exactly at 49:43 in the keynote is where the iP14 is claimed to have "updated internal design that improves thermal performance". So, I guess we'd get to see full A15 performance if it had proper cooling in the first place.

My guess is a slightly improved thermal design for better sustained perfomance, but nothing completely different/innovative (ie. vapor chamber, etc..).
If they would do something like that, IMHO they would spend a bit more time on it during the keynote and maybe even give it a fancy name (Koolaid

)I noticed that my iPhone 13 Pro gets really hot to the touch when simply browsing this forum on Tapatalk- I imagine it's all the ads. Even doing that, the screen will dim at times.
I assume from what we see here, that it's not going to be noticeably different on the 14 Pro, given that it's only a couple of degrees difference?
This forum has a known bug that heats up iPhone. But yes, the iPhone 14 is still a hot device if stressed. Fundamentally, these processors are getting hotter each year due to the increasing number of transistors Apple is packing into the chip.
A vapor chamber is designed to spread the heat and would be useless if it's sandwiched inside the stacked logic board. I'd say it's a definite no at this point.
The iPhone 13 Pro logic board already has a similar copper colored edge.
Really? I used to play COD high brightness on my 13 Pro Max it doesn’t get too hot for me. Whatever it is it will improving the heat so it’s good. Also Apple needed to do this as the Pro phoned can go to 2,000 mitts at peak outdoor brightness.
Apple doesn’t mention third party things on their phones Eg they use Qualcomm 5G chip they never mention that even tho it’s probably using the X65. Whatever it is it won’t make the phone hot as Apple said the thermals have been improved they needed to become the Pro models can go up to 2,000 nitts outdoor brightness without some sort of cooling you wouldn’t be able to do this.
On all my scenarios that my 11pro max and former 13 pro max where the display got dim and the device got very warm...the 14 pro max didnt

Bumping this old thread
Here in the summer my 14 pro screen dims to almost nothing on longer car trips (as gps in a mount)
But my spare android phone? (Samsung a32) no issues. So now I resort to that on long trips. Any reason why my $1200 can’t handle the what but my free android can?!
