Does the iPhone give a message when charged?

I'm power cycling a new iPhone. So I want to know that it's fully charged. When I look at the screen now it show the green bar being full.

Will a written message appear to show it's fully charged?

...or does a full green bar denote this?

The smaller batter indicator on the upper part of the screen will change from having a lightning bolt to an AC Plug.
