Do apps that use a dictionary database for spell check have to have their own word list or is there a built in one on the phone that these apps can access?

It does have a built in diction for spell check, which is how auto-correction works. But apps don't have access to the word list outside of a text field when entering text.

I wish it did. Stanza just put one into their e-book reader and it is awesome. This is something that should be rendered system-wide. Now that we can highlight words for c/p, if you just highlight one word, it would be great if a "define" menu popped-up along with the cut, copy, etc.
