Does the iPhone Upgrade program require a credit pull *each year* ?
In another topic someone mentioned that if you are in the iPhone Upgrade program, your credit rating is pulled each year.
Can anyone verify that
1) It's a "hard pull" i.e., the kind that hurts your credit rating?
2) The credit pull is done each year?
I understand the need to do an initial credit score pull. But not every year.
ex: I technically "lease" my Satellite TV equipment from DirecTV.
But when upgraded it this year (2 new boxes + new satellite), they did not do a new credit pull.
I was planning on signing up for the iPhone upgrade program. But my credit rating is excellent (~805) and I want to keep it that way. If I move and get a new mortgage or stay put and refinance, get a car loan, or a new credit card in the next year, multiple credit pulls in 1 year has always decreased my score.
