I have an old Apple Cinema Display, with a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
It works fine as an external display with my old black Macbook.

Will the new MBA 13.3 support this though? Apple doesn't mention that.
Apple's tech specs say that MBA has:

"Supported resolutions: 1440 by 900 (native), 1280 by 800, 1152 by 720, 1024 by 640, and 800 by 500 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio"

Thanks in advance, everyone!

It should, but you'll need a mini displayport to dvi adaptor to plug into the dvi to adc adaptor.

Gotta love those crazy Apple connectors. :D Would've been funny had they made a Mini DisplayPort to ADC adaptor.

As above, almost certainly yes, but you will need both the physical miniDisplay-DVI adaptor which is $29 AND the DVI to ADC display adaptor which is an electronic adaptor with a big power brick and costs around $100 (and doesn't seem to be available from Apple anymore). I'm using this setup with miniDVI-DVI instead of miniDisplayPort-DVI to run an 08 Macbook with the 1920x1080 HD Apple display, it runs perfectly, and will be swapping the miniDVI-DVI for a miniDisplayPort-DVI when I get a new MacBook Air sometime soon!

Essentially if you think it is worth investing $100 to keep your display running with newer Apple computers it is a great investment, though somewhat annoying that it is necessary. If you'd rather put that $100 towards a newer monitor, given that the Apple one might last 20 years but but it might give out tomorrow, that's the only other alternative...

I already have the ADC brick as I use it with my old black Macbook, so all I guess I need is a mini-Displayport-DVI adaptor.

By the way, Amazon sells these adaptors made by third parties (non-Apple) for as low as $6.

Thanks!
