Does the new MacPro's proximity activated port lighting turn on even when the computer is not running?

Here's another question:

When the computer is turned "off" as in not running and if you turn the computer around, should the port lighting work or not?

Reason i'm asking is a friend of me has a nmp and when turning the computer the port lights light up even when the computer is not running...in my case when the computer is not running and i turn the computer around the lights don't light up...they only light up when the computer is on

Is your friend's nMP shut off, or just sleeping?

Is your's also in the same mode (off - or sleeping)?
If completely off, is your power cord plugged in to a power strip, and is the power strip turned on, or off?
Maybe your friend is getting power from the bus, such as a powered storage device attached?

Or, if everything is the same, and your panel doesn't come when you move or turn your nMP - it may have some other situation which would be worth a call to AppleCare for a quick answer.

his is shut off, just like mine. His is indeed in a power strip that has an on/off button, the power strip is always on while my macpro's power cable is directly plugged into the wall...maybe this has something to do with it?

NMacpro port lights.

My NMacPro was plugged in but the machines was shut off... so I believe the port lights turn on even when the machine is turned off if it is still plugged in.:D

As long as it's plugged into electricity, the ports will illuminate if you spin the machine. Everything except the power button, which ONLY lights when the computer is turned ON.
