Does the new MBP support HDCP?

Does anyone know if the newly released MBP with the GeForce 8600M GT support HDCP Content Protection for Blu-ray and HD DVD playback? Thanks.

just rip it to the hd and be done. although i get lag when playing back 1080p off the hd. i dunno but it should i believe all video for the past year this has not been a issue.

As far as I know, yes the new ones do. At least that card does, I've read. But as someone else here has told me, it has more to do with the Operating System/drivers than it does the actual card. That means the drivers have to implement hdcp. I'm not sure if Apple does or not, currently. But if you installed windows on it (which you currently would need to do in order to watch an HDDVD or BluRay) then the windows drivers should support it, I believe
