I have that option enabled on my iPhone 6s - which automatically sends the iPhone's last location to the server when the battery is "critically low" (this is, when the battery reaches 5%), but I have found out that the phone activates the Location (which is obvious); yet, immediately, the phone drops to 2%, linearly - without skipping a number - within 3 seconds, when it finishes sending the location, the indicator of the status bar disappears, and no further drain occurs.
Does this happen to you? I assume it's normal, but it kills the last few % of the battery, which in my experience, are the longest ones.
PS: The phone's health is good, battery life is excellent and it's on iOS 9, it's not OS-related. I think it's just the feature, hence why I'm seeking other cases.

My phones spend the majority of their life between 60% and 100%. This is easier on lithium ion batteries than dropping below 20%.

That said when I have drained to 0% to calibrate once or twice during the life of the phone I haven’t noticed this. :/
