I have an M1 MBA and the AV adapter with USB-C/HDMI/USB-A does 4K 60hz and also HDR. No other adapter I've had will see that the MBA is capable of HDR output even though on Apple's site it says the M1 MBA does not output 4K HDR.

I have a regular USB hub daisy-chained to the A2119 adapter - with a bunch of periperals (including a card reader)
Works fine including 4K60 output.

Daisy chaining may get clunky if you intend to use the adapter on the move but works great for a fixed desk setup
